Schoenfeld Farm is located just east of Grand Forks on the beautiful Kettle river. It started out with just a couple of bee hives in the suburbs and a dream. Seven years later and there are a lot of chickens and goats, and still a couple of bee hives. I always thought I wanted to grow vegetables, but raising my own meat has been eye opening. Being able to feed my children food that I know exactly how it was raised is amazing and the taste speaks for itself.

I believe in giving animals the best live possible on my farm before they go to the butcher. The goats have access to large areas to forage and our chickens are able to free range most areas of the farm. I strongly believe that as a farmer you have to be accountable for the animals you create. We use all the animal manure as compost in our garden to improve the soil structure and fertility and are starting to implement some precision agriculture tools to improve watering and monitor crop growth. And every season we learn more and adjust what we do around the farm!
